THE STORY
Area 13 (area13.us) is a consultancy for strategic thinking about problems, their resolutions and how to go about making right action work when issues or challenges occur within our nation’s workplaces.
“Peter Brabbee” is “Area13” and found within the portal SAM.gov since 1999 for contracting professionals offering services to the US government under “alternative dispute resolution” (ADR) listing skills as a “mediator” : the heading best known as a skill set that includes conciliation, facilitation, problem solving and “ombudsmanship.”
Area 13 utilizes a digital office for the role of the contracting ombudsman; here we observe similar protocols and practices to those found at a physical location that support the neutrality, confidentiality and independence of an Ombudsman’s Office.
In addition to the mediation skill set listed… Area 13/Peter Brabbee offers “med-arb” (mediation-arbitration) … with a non-binding opinion rendered to facilitate discussion when at impasse.
